I got 20th place and medaled, but only 6th on our team. We are strong but I nee to move up. My calves were burning again and I just did not have a good race.

I just want the coach to treat me (other runners who are not the "top" runners) fairly and with respect.

Tiger Grizz (3.11 Miles) 00:23:23, Place overall: 3, Place in age division: 1 | | One of my favorite race on our home course. It was super hot today (~90). I ran the JV race and was hoping that my legs would not hurt as bad. I ran the first mile at 7:00 pace and was in about 15th place and third on the team. I just kept pushing, my legs hurt and my mind was telling me to drop out but I battled in my head and said no. Maren passed me at about 1.5 miles on the hills. I passed Abby just past 2 miles then Daphne right after that. I kept pushing hard and not letting my mind win and past Maren with 800m to go. My mouth was super dry and legs hurt but I did not stop and ended up 1st on our team and 3rd overall for the race. Our team won the JV race overall (we were 3,4,5,10,12)! I ran a warmup and cool down and sat in the creek. A great day and I got the fear from my Century race out of my head. Earned a spot on varsity for next week's race!

I was with a big group of Tigers at the mile mark in 6:40 then we spread out in the next mile. I had fallen off a bit by the 2 mile mark, but then I pushed harder and passed some runners and caught up to my teammates and ended up 8th on the team today. I ran faster than at Tiger/Grizz earlier this season and a course PR. One more race to try to make it on the state team if we go.

Nike Cross Northwest Rising Stars (3.11 Miles) 00:22:30, Place overall: 70 | | I ran the Nike Cross Northwest today. I was the only IF girl to come (4th year in a row). It was cold 35 degrees but not too bad. I warmed up with dad then got in my chute with a couple other girls who were without teams. This was a faster race than last year. My first miles was a 6:43 and I felt good but when I started to go up the hill my stomach started to hurt really bad. I slowed up a little and kept trying to push but then my shins started to ache. On the second time up the hill I tripped on the timing mat at the top, so did many others. I tried to run as fast as I could the last mile but I was really hurting. I still finished faster than at Bob Firman so at least I got a course PR, but not the sub 22 or PR that I was hoping. I enjoyed coming and feel good about my season. I got to see Erik win the community race in an amazing 15:31 and see a former teacher who moved to Boise. I had fun staying with our friend Deborah and playing with her dogs.
